The Favourite Website Awards People’s Choice Award 2007, Sponsored by Adobe, winner:
Description: Help the milk-deprived Adachi family to break into Fort Fridge and get the Glass. Avoid Milkatraz!
FWA comment (Rob Ford, FWA Principal): "With 27% of the total votes cast, polling almost double its nearest rival, I think we can safely say Get the Glass! was the overwhelming favourite site of 2007. When I first saw this site back in March 2007 my initial thought was "site of the year". It's not very often I feel like that, in fact the last time I did was in 2004 when Vodafone Future Vision was launched and later went on to win both SOTY and PCA. It's actually quite incredible that in FWA's eight year history this is only the second time one site has won both SOTY and PCA and the fact that the same agency was involved with both, North Kingdom, makes it even more remarkable. This time around NK worked closely with the team at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, an agency we have seen more and more outstanding work from in recent years and Get the Glass! is my favourite from them so far. A very worthy winner of both titles for 2007 and let's hope this collaboration will work together again in the future and bring even more fun and excitement to the web."
Reactions from winner:
W. Stephen James, Executive Director, California Milk Processor Board
"We are thrilled and grateful to receive this prestigious award from FWA. In only our second year of having a presence on the web, GetTheGlass.com reveals both the depth of the research conducted by our friends at Goodby Silverstein and their detailed creative vision. It’s a whole new ball game trying to reach consumers with your message, and we felt the game and the whole experience of GetTheGlass.com succeeded in attracting, entertaining, and—most importantly—educating the public about the many nutritional benefits of milk. And even though we have always been very proud of the site and the experience it provides, it’s always nice to have such prestigious international recognition."
David Eriksson, CEO, North Kingdom, Sweden
Getting the FWA PCA is from our view the greatest prize you can win. We have always tried to put the users in the first room and this is proof that we have succeeded
It is also recognition to the whole North Kingdom Team and a reward for all the love and passion we put into our work.
Looking forward we will struggle to keep pushing the frontier of digital media and make ourselves worthy of this award!"
A few words from the PCA sponsor, Adobe:
Kristan Jiles, Sr. Product Marketing Manager at Adobe
"On behalf of Adobe, congratulations to North Kingdom and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners! Gettheglass.com is an outstanding example of what’s possible when superior creative talent is united with the power of Adobe’s technology. All of this year’s nominations were impressive examples of creativity at its best. We thank the FWA for once again coordinating this worldwide celebration of stellar web work. It’s definitely an inspiration for creative expression and community, and we’re glad to have been a part of it."
