.

I watch a lot of old movies, Hitchcock's mainly. I read books, listen to and watch people, visualize jokes and gags, drink a bottle of red wine, etc. Whatever keeps me far from the computer at that time.

Please give us a brief bio of yourself.

I started creating characters and stories when I was a kid. At 13 years of age I began studying arts, promotion design, liberal arts and life drawing. At 17 I got my first computer and started investigating different software. I finally discovered the 3D max 4 for DOS at 20 and began university, the multimedia career, which made me start thinking of a new concept - INTERACTIVITY, that's when I decided to combine both, linear stories with alternative options.

Now I am 25 and continue to create characters and stories, but my main work is multimedia.

What do you do for inspiration?

I watch a lot of old movies, Hitchcock's mainly. I read books, listen to and watch people, visualize jokes and gags, drink a bottle of red wine, etc. Whatever keeps me far from the computer at that time.

Please list 3 of your favourite sites.

I love nutcorner, spumco (no longer online) and jimhenson.

What would you like to achieve?

My aim is to write and produce a great script for a movie.

What software couldn't you live without?

3D studio Max, Flash MX, photoshop

What projects do you have in the pipeline?

I am planning a new short animation with 7 new characters and it is a video clip with many different stories, very funny and romantic. I already have the sketches for it.

Who do you rate as being the top 3 design companies?

Blue Sky Studios, PDI, and Pixar.

What plans do you have to increase traffic to your site?

I am planning to bring a new concept for the site. I want it to be dynamic, so I will add something that will update its contents more often.

  Who is your target audience?

It was the big companies at the beginning, that's why I didn't care about bandwidth, but after the last 4 months experience I've decided that I care about everyone visiting my site for whatever reason.

What area of web design lacks the most?

Creativity I guess, we need some fresh new ideas instead of replicating old good designs styles.

Have you written any books, if not do you plan to?

No, I haven't and it's not something I'm planning right now.

What did your very first site look like? Is it still online?

It was a 3d lab, much more funny and childish, more colorful, it looked like kindergarden. It's no longer online but there is a screenshot in the web design section of my actual site under the name "older mediaramas"

What was the toughest thing you ever did with Flash? How long did you spend on it?

I designed and programmed several games in flash, that's tough. The most difficult took several days to finish.

Do you think Flash is here to stay?

Definitely, yes.

How have you learned so many Flash/design skills and techniques and can you offer any advice for newbies?

I have been working with design for the last 5 years, so you are forced to learn and be up to date with the new stuff. However, I’d advise you to focus on what you want to achieve and then choose the right software for that.

It is worth remembering that the software is only a tool and that the real skill is in your ideas.

It's been a privilege, Matias, thanks you.

Thank you, I am glad you considered me.
