Just play around and don’t let the technique be an obstacle. Let your fantasy lead the way.

Please give us a brief bio of yourselves.

Team from Paregos:

Helena Johansson, AD

Maria Bergmark, AD

Evelina Örn, AD

We have a background in art school, Interactive Media 80 p, 3d graphics (Nordiska Scenografiskolan) and Graphic design and Illustration (Berghs School of Communication).

What do you do for inspiration?

We surf the web, watch movies and TV spots, read books and magazines. It is also important to take a break from work and do things that make you feel good outside of the office walls. Walks in the sun, skiing, bowling…

Please list 3 of your favourite sites.

www.crossmind.net - www.newstoday.com - www.styleboost.com

What do you regard as being your biggest achievement?

Paregos is successful whether we make a cool design site, a site with great usability and functionality or a children's game and that is our biggest achievement. Our wide range is our strength.

What software couldn't you live without?

Photoshop and Flash.

Who do you rate as being the top 3 design companies?

Acne - Attik - buro destruct

What projects do you have in the pipeline?

We are working a lot with Telia (Nordic Leader in Telecommunications) at the moment, producing web campaigns and other screen commercials. We are also working with Mitsubishi on a web campaign for the new Mitsubishi Outlander. A campaign to be released this spring.

What effect on traffic do your new designs have?

We make designs that fulfil the goals and visions of the client. When we reach our target group, then we have succeeded.

What area of web design lacks the most?

Structure and usability.

  Who is your target audience?

The target group of the client. We work with different companies on each project, and our aim is to reach out to that client's specific audience in design, functionality and usability.

What did your very first site look like? Is it still online?

Paregos was born in 1995 and at that time, cd-rom production was the hot thing to do. The first cd-rom, STEEL, was awarded the best cd-rom production of the year in Sweden.

The first website Paregos produced was an e-learning product for Ericsson, called "GPRS - System Overview". This was in 1999 and the site is currently not online.

Have you written any books, do you plan to?

"The Paregos story"? No, but we participate in a few books and magazines with samples of our work.

What was the toughest thing you ever did with Flash? How long did you spend on it?

Skyscraper was a state of the art production when we produced it. It was awarded many times and has been a great promoter for Paregos. We put a lot of time and effort into it and it was worth every second.

Do you think Flash is here to stay?

Yep. We also believe, and hope, that the future will bring more opportunities to combine flash with different media.

How have you learned so many Flash/design skills and techniques and can you offer any advice for newbies?

Just play around and don’t let the technique be an obstacle. Let your fantasy lead the way.

What type of overcoat do you wear when Flashing, basically are you labels women?

We are laidback girls in jeans and t-shirts.

Any parting shots or pearls of wisdom?

Have fun!
