I think most websites are just over designed and lack solid concept. But I think it gets better with each year.
My name is Tomas Celizna, I am 26 years old and I have degree in Information Management. Prior to starting design studio dgu I worked for about a year for a internet start-up here in Prague. I still love the web.
I am still waiting impatiently until 'it' comes. :-) What inspires me a lot is music, which I listen to nearly all the time - I really love exploring new and different styles and kinds of music.
pitchforkmedia.com, quatermass.net, newstoday.com, k10k.net, moma.org/Russian, newordergetready.com (no longer online), 010101.sfmoma.org + many many others.
We are happy that our projects are often listed on design portals, so the traffic always gets boosted significantly.
Accepting one needs any software to live, I am saying: "Probably Photoshop and Flash. Total Commander, WinAmp and Miranda is a plus :-)"
dgu.cz (for quite a long time :-)), sound postproduction studio website, a museum, a photographer... We always welcome new projects - I tend to get excited with each new one :-)
My all time favourites are, for example Method, Hi-Res! and Basedesign, I like Honest's work, Flat, de-construct, Foundation33, Intro, perimetre-flux, Standard Rad, thonik... there's so many I look up to.
The problem is that I am very strong in coming up with challenges for myself. Always check our last project :-)
Depends on the project. We try to approach each project individually based on its character. Our client list is very diverse - ranging from cultural institutions, non-profit organizations through commercial and government clients to personal ones.... We are also focused not only on websites - we do a lot of print, broadcast and environmental work too.

No comment :-)
Not yet & no plans due to my busy schedule.
Definitely. This is just the beginning :-) There are still so many issues that need to be solved in terms of usability and so on.
I started with a Flash manual and I got most of my coding skills from FlashCoders list. Needless to say I used to code a lot at highschool (assembler and so on).
Thanks for this opportunity. ![]() |
