question Please give us a brief bio of yourself.

Hello, I’m a designer, Sanghee Cho, who loves to draw illustration and enjoys to make digital works, based in California, USA.

What do you do for inspiration?

I like to go to museums to get inspiration from various artworks, such as the post-impressionists, modern art and multimedia arts. It is very interesting to find the artist’s secret intentions.

Please list 3 of your favourite sites.

How many hours do you work each week?

About 35 hours. Usually free.

How do you relax or unwind?

Drawing and painting with music.

If you weren't working on the internet what would you be doing?

I would be an artist or a writer.

What's your favourite part of your job? What's the hardest part of your job? What do you do when you get stuck?

Personally, I'm interested in Illustration. I like to design icons from the things that we can see all around us. Sometimes it would have commercial value.

The hardest thing in my work is the gap between Design and Development. Sometimes the problem occurred on websites or other devices which I'm working on.

Accordingly, I usually talk with developers about the design goal and technique. Through this communication, we have to find possibility and impossibility as soon as possible. And then organize to make up for design and development.

If there are any pivotal experiences/decisions you could point to that helped shape your career, what would they be?

I think it is important to work at a design agency as your first job. Because You can see what other professional people do, where they get inspiration and how to deal with clients or coworkers, these things are very helpful. That makes you grow up in a short time.

What software could you not live without?

I love to use Photoshop and Illustrator. And it is not exactly the software for my work, but I can't live without Google Map.

I’m not get used to find my way around, so I always use Google Maps wherever I go. It has amazing information, about the roads, bus time scheduling, bus or train stops, popular restaurants, even the navigation for driving.

In terms of software, is there anything new you have been playing with lately or that has impressed you?

I already posted at my blog, my favorite music band “Mew” made up beautiful iPhone application.

Wear your headphone, move to the destination through music sound. Then you can collect their brand new music. It was so fresh and a fun experience for me.

Who is your target audience?

For everyone who wants to enjoy my works.

Are there any websites that have shone through as being pioneering in the last 5 years or so?

Of all the websites you/your company have produced, which one are you most proud of?

My website - http://ddanga.com

The main concept is a flow gallery. You just sit on the chair and can see all the works.

It is like walking around an art gallery or even a museum.

I have collected the pictures and movies from everywhere and wanted to share them with other people.

So this site exactly shows what I have imagined.

What are your views on design/graphic school. Do you think someone can get into the field without educational experience in a school environment?

Design education is important of course. But If you couldn’t go to school, it doesn’t matter. Get passionate about design, but don’t lose creative ideas.

Creative ideas are more important than design knowledge.

If you were a student entering this industry or an aspiring FWA award submitter, what advice would you give them?

Get your own idea and to be sensitive to the latest trend.

How do you keep up with the latest capabilities of Flash or do you rely on other members of you team to do this?

I usually work with Jongmin Kim who is the person made FFF. Actually he developed my latest website using HTML 5. We have been talking a million times about the technical idea and fixed and fixed again for the quality.

There must be a project that you have always dreamed of doing, what is it?

To get my own multimedia exhibition that have new other theme at a real gallery.

What does the future hold for your company, or you as a person?

I want to be a designer continuously as long as I can, have design sense of current trends.

What are you excited about learning next and is there a long term challenge you are considering tackling?

I’m excited to take the moments to travel somewhere. And I would like to learn the skill of taking photographs professionally. So If possible, I will go to every country to collect beautiful scenes.

It has been a privilege, thanks very much

It is my pleasure. Thank you ;)
