Firstborn, an award-winning full-service interactive agency, is in the process of interviewing candidates for a fulltime, on-site position of Creative Front-End Developer in our New York office.

Our project teams brainstorm, experiment, and create a product that is well designed, functional, and always unique.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work hand-in-hand with the creative and development teams to create rich Internet applications using web-standard technologies. You'll develop pixel-perfect websites and applications for desktop and mobile devices using your HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills.

SKILLS & APTITUDES
 2+ years experience with cross-browser development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
 Experience with any of the major JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, YUI, Dojo, etc)
 Basic knowledge of any server-side language (e.g. PHP, C#, Ruby, etc)
 Solid debugging skills using Firebug or Webkit Web Inspector
 Strong communication skills (both in person and in writing)
 Desire to learn and to share knowledge
 Organized, attention to details
 Excellent sense of aesthetic and motion
 Familiarity with Photoshop
 Ability to work within a collaborative team environment wearing multiple hats
 Support the creative team on usability and accessibility problems

GOOD TO HAVE
 Creative background
 Understanding of SEO best practices
 Experience with website and/or application development for mobile devices
 Basic Flash knowledge
 Experience using version control systems (e.g. SVN)
 Object Oriented programming skills
 Experience with front-end performance optimization
 Third party API experience (e.g. YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, Facebook)
 Experience with Facebook application development
 Knowledge of HTML5 and the new CSS3 modules
 CMS integration and development
