Details About the Role

Visceral crafts award winning websites and digital products for the world's leading cause-driven organizations. We are looking for a smart and motivated developer to join our small, growing team in downtown San Diego. As a developer at Visceral, you will actively contribute to project strategy, creative direction and technical development in a collaborative environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Develop high quality, professional and responsive websites on the WordPress platform
-Lead development for new client projects
-Conduct development maintenance on existing client projects
-Create clean, efficient and well-documented code
-Build prototypes and demo applications that address client needs
-Code web pages to match visual design specifications that render correctly in all major browsers, platforms and devices
-Comprehend technical specs, ask appropriate technical questions and raise concerns as necessary
-Develop technical documentation
-Keep a pulse on trends in the industry and identify technical innovations
-Support team with technical input and assistance in the planning, design and execution of projects
I-nterface effectively with a cross function team (Visceral and Clients)

Qualifications / Requirements

-3+ years experience creating WordPress sites from scratch, developing themes, plugins, etc.
-UI/UX development with an understanding of Cross Browser Compatibility
-Experience working in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and PHP/MySQL
-Experience with Adobe Creative products
-US Work Permit required

Skills and Experience

-Experience collaborating with clients, project managers, designers and fellow engineers.
-Support our project managers with technical input and assistance in the planning, design and execution of projects
-Experience and desire to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment
-Highly motivated individual with interest in enhancing skills and learning new technologies
-Ability to work with a cross-functional team and make appropriate trade-offs to meet time constraints
-Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task
-Excellent attention to detail

Additional Skills

-Experience with CRMs such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, etc. is a plus
-Experience with Google Analytics and Search Engine Optimization is a plus
-Experience with other CMS platforms other than WordPress is a plus
-Understanding 508 compliance experience is a plus
-Agency experience preferred
