SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
University degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts or similar or proof of equivalent skills and training (ie apprenticeship with portfolio and references)
Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Flash development familiarity
An online portfolio of high caliber design work (not a PDF)
An understanding of messaging, user-experience, and content communication
A passion for film and film advertising
Experience with APIs commonly used in creating web and mobile apps including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Maps, Instagram, Snapchat
Experience with common ad servers for web and mobile including at least two of the following: Eyeblaster, DoubleClick, Flashtalking, iAd, Celtra
Some experience with video editing, encoding, optimization (After Effects, Premiere) for mobile and web
As our new Junior Designer, first and foremost you will be trained by our design and development team to create the most impressive online advertising formats for clients including Paramount Pictures, Universal, Warner Brothers, Entertainment One, the Discovery Channel, and more. In 2013, this meant working on such films as Anchorman 2, World War Z, The Fifth Estate, We are the Millers, as well as creating ads for brands like Red Bull and shows like Bear Grylls: Escape From Hell.
In addition to online advertising formats, we also create interactive experiences (such as quizzes, timelines, and interactive trailers), websites, and all manner of digital design. There is room to grow beyond the standard online advertising format creation once it's been mastered.
Daily, you'll be expected to do the following under the guidance of senior staff:
Design and build online advertising formats to specifications in both flash and html5 and any future new technologies as they arise
Contribute constructively to brainstorms and idea sessions as necessary. Support creative concepting and provide validity and feasibility checks, contributing to prototyping and proof of concepts when appropriate
Play an active role in projects from inception, scoping, estimating, planning, designing, development, testing, and delivery
Work with other team members in to improve your design and development skills in line with your individual goals and objectives, as agreed and in concert with the Operations Director
Contribute to design for sites and interactive applications for web, tablet, and mobile devices as required under the direction of our senior designers
