Job description
Lead Social Strategist

Role:
As Lead Social Strategist you closely collaborate with VIA internal client Strategy, Communication Planning and Creative teams to develop and execute social media strategies that build our clients' businesses. You are responsible for growing VIA's social media team and developing relationships with key social media platforms and partners.

Responsibilities:

•Use research, analysis and client business objectives to uncover opportunities for social media to help our clients reach their goals. Work with client Strategy team to originate and scope new social media opportunities with clients.
•Develop social media strategies for clients that incorporate activities such as community management, social platform creation, content development, influencer outreach, employee activation and integrated marketing campaigns. *Develop compelling presentations that share these strategies with clients, partner agencies and VIA teams.
•Work with client Strategy, Communication Planning, Production, Analytics and Creative teams to execute social media strategies and integrate with broader client marketing plans.
•Coach and mentor junior social media staff.
•Lead learning sessions to keep the agency up to speed on what's happening in the industry
•Work closely with VIA's leadership team to hone VIA's point of view on social marketing, establish officewide best practices, and continuously improve VIA's social marketing capabilities and toolset.
•Establish partnerships with key social partners — including Facebook, Google, Foursquare and other relevant companies — to uncover innovative opportunities and stay informed about the state of the industry and what that means for VIA clients.

Qualifications:

•8-10 years' experience in agency or client marketing setting; 3-5 years in social media or digital marketing
•Proficient practitioner of major social media platforms (ex. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr) with ideas on their application to client business challenges
•Experience managing and growing agency marketing teams, including P&L
•Demonstrated success in selling new social media work to clients
•Experience launching social media programs or platforms for clients
•Understanding of insight generation tools like Radian6, Crimson Hexagon, Traackr, Nitrogram, etc.
•Strong writing skills and in-person communication skills
•Strong knowledge of PowerPoint® and Keynote® and how to package and present strategic work
